U R the judge for the Best Decorated Businesses

Nov. 24 – Dec. 1 Judging of Best Decorated Business Every year holiday decorations are hung with care throughout our character-filled island. Merchants light up their storefronts with festive bulbs and ornaments and favorite characters depicting holiday memories are painted for all to see along the windows. During the Lights on for Tybee Celebration, awards will be presented by Tybee Beautification Association to the Best Decorated Businesses.  The public is encouraged to participate by submitting nominations for your favorites!  Voting will take place between Thanksgiving Day and December 1. December 2, 9 & 16 A Lighthouse Christmas The Tybee Island Historical Society invites you to join them for a unique opportunity to travel back through time and experience the sights and customs of Christmas at the Tybee Island Light Station in the days of their last Lighthouse Keeper and his family. This quaint depiction of holiday cheer in the 1930’s and 40’s illustrates the traditions of a simpler time by a small family whose closest, and sometimes only, neighbors were the military families of Fort Screven. Tybee Island Tour de Christmas Lights Bike Parade

Saturday, December 9 10th Annual Tybee Island Tour de Christmas Lights Parade Light up your bikes and golf carts, tinsel up the frames and cruise the island for a night of holiday fun! The Tour de Christmas Lights parade will begin and end at A-J’s Dockside (1315 Chatham Avenue).   Registration is from 3pm until 6pm.  The oyster roast, door prizes, and raffle drawing begins at 4:30pm.  The “best of” judging begins at 6pm and the parade will start at 7pm.   Once the winner is announced, the riding begins for touring the island’s lights and downtown spontaneous stops!   All proceeds and donations benefit the Rising TYde Community Food Pantry – the goal is $10000 for the 10th year of this lit parade!   Click here for more...
