December 10 & 17, 2016 A Lighthouse Christmas The Tybee Island Historical Society invites you to join them for a unique opportunity to travel back through time and experience the sights and customs of Christmas at the Tybee Island Light Station in the days of their last Lighthouse Keeper and his family. This quaint depiction of holiday cheer in the 1930’s and 40’s illustrates the traditions of a simpler time by a small family whose closest, and sometimes only, neighbors were the military families of Fort Screven. cancelled for 2016: Tybee Island Tour de Lights Bike Parade

– cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew cleanup – Saturday, December 17 11th Annual Tybee Island Toure’ de Lights Bike Parade Light up your bikes, tinsel up the handrails and cruise the island for a night of holiday fun! The Tour de Lights parade will begin and end at A-J’s Dockside (1315 Chatham Avenue).   Bike line-up and decorating begins at 5 p.m. with the contest judging at 6:15 pm.  The winner will be announced at 7 pm.
